In the quest to register a vanity username on the social networking site Facebook, people propped their eyes open, swigged extra-strong coffee, and hunkered down to get their username. In the first few minutes of Saturday 200,000 new usernames were registered. In less than 15 minutes it was 500,000.

Actor David Carradine was found dead in his Bangkok hotel room, hanging from a nylon rope in his closet, according to Thai police officials. The rope was apparently from the room curtains.
